"Ward 14"

About: King's Mill Hospital

On 21st November 2014,I was admitted to Ward 14 for a hysterectomy. I have the cut across the bottom of my tummy. The staff were kind, caring, respectful, committed and extremely helpful. My decision not to have any spinal injections were discussed with the aneathatist and my decision was accepted. The surgery went well with no difficulties. I was discharged 48hrs after surgery under strict instructions to have complete rest. I was advised to attend the GP surgery on the 6th day to have the stitch removed (has a bead either end of the cut). There was no way I was able to do this and I would not recommend anyone to do so. The aftercare is just as important and I feel a nurse should attend your home to complete this procedure as I have a problem with mine at the moment and it would have been awful trying to return home afterwards.
