"A pointless visit to outpatients"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services / Endocrinology

(as the patient),

I arrived in good time for an appointment with Dr Chellamuthu's Endocrine & Diabetes Follow-up Clinic last Friday only to be told that he had left the hospital sometime in the summer and all his appointments had been cancelled and re-arranged. I had not received any information about this, nor that the appointment had been re-arranged. When checking through my computer records on screen at the Reception, the receptionist told me that no other appointment had been made for me. Friday is the only day in the week where both my husband and myself are not working, so we were unable to schedule a free day this particular week because of this, what turned out to be a cancelled appointment. I am not impressed with this situation.
