The TRAQs experience is very good system, but doesn’t take into account individual consultant required or referred to so makes checking credentials of consultants difficult.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our request for feedback.

I can understand that it is frustrating that TRAQS cannot always offer appointments with specific consultants. This is because not all consultants are linked with the electronic booking system Choose and Book. Some hospitals prefer not to have specific clinics but a generic/pooled clinic which allows more availability and clinic capacity. The hospitals will always take into account the named consultant if a letter is specifically addressed to one particular consultant.

I am sure you can appreciate that as TRAQS has the ability to book an appointment anywhere in England we cannot be aware of all consultants in all available NHS providers.Patients can access Dr Foster which is a website specifically used by patients to check the credentials of consultants to allow patients more informed Choice.
