"I thank all the staff involved"

About: Adult community services / Lymphoedema Service

(as the patient),

After having breast cancer 5 years ago, I was also diagnosed with mild lymphedema. I had 10 lymph glands removed at the time of surgery, which were tested and proved negative. Since the surgery I had extreme pain my right arm and breast after having 15 sessions of radiography. I thought it was the lymphedema that was causing the pain, or even that the cancer was returning. However I have had my 5 years ‘all clear’ and discharge from the hospital, the consultant examined me and my mammogram were all clear. I trust the health care I was given and the pain seemed to be coming from my shoulder and underarm, which has been looked at from an orthopaedic surgeon. I have to accept their decisions and may have some treatment in the future.

I thank all the staff involved, and had 5 years with my grandchildren which I may not have had without them and their professional care.
