"Thank you Dr Raynor at Royal Hallamshire Eye Clinic"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

In October 2008 my right eye cataract was removed. My left eye was due to be done in February 2009, but when examined, Mr Raynor (consultant) found a tumour near the tear duct in my left eye. He arranged for me to be seen within 6 weeks and Mr Das (consultant) spoke to me. It was decided to cut out the tumour, which was malignant and Mr Das did this with great care and professional expertise. He took a skin graft from behind my left ear and filled up the hole and it would appear that he has removed all the cancerous growth and saved the tear duct. I am still awaiting a check up on 15th May 2009, but at present everything seems fine.

This is the second operation carried out at the Hallamshire and I cannot speak highly enough about the excellent care and service I have received. Everything has been explained step by step and this put both myself and my wife at ease.

If Mr Raynor had not spotted this growth, I dread to think what might have happened to my eye.
