"Treated with utmost respect"

About: Victoria Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

During a recent admission to admission unit one I was treated with the utmost respect and feel the pressures the nursing team are under needs to be addressed.

One nurse in particular called laura was an inspiration to the role. No job seemed to much for her and she ensured my questions were answered by the doctors.

I'd like to also mention that I felt reassured when I was very scared and time was spent with me even though I knew how busy the ward was. Well done

Dear Mama69

Thank you for your post, which I will be delighted to share with the staff in Admissions Unit 1. It is a very busy area as you have seen and you will be pleased to hear that we recently had approval of Fife Health Board to recruit additional nursing staff.

It was great to hear that you felt respected and re assured, there is no doubt coming in to hospital is a scary experience for most! Laura will be delighted to receive your feedback as will the wider team.

Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your experience

Regards

Louise Ewing
