In 2008 I took part in a bowel cancer screening test and was found to have an early stage of rectal cancer. From diagnosis to specialist radiotherapy I had treatment at Clatterbridge oncology centre in Wirral. Then trans-anal resection surgery at Doncaster in September 2008. My treatment was quick and painless. I felt safe and well treated in clean and efficient surroundings and follow up visits have been prompt and encouraging. Thank you NHS and the screening service.
