I was referred to the outpatient clinic by my GP as I was having difficulties with bladder retention. My nurse at the outpatients department is called Yvonne and she gave me a set of exercises to follow and suggested I purchased a pelvic floor educator which I did. I have tried to discipline myself to carry out the pelvic floor exercises but due to a couple of problems with cystitis I have only done the exercises intermittently. On my latest visit to the nurse she checked my bladder by scanning it to check if it was retaining any urine after a visit to the toilet but it was clear. Yvonne has now referred me to the physiotherapist for further help with my exercises. I can only say that she has been extremely good with me and very helpful and understanding. She has a lovely patient/nurse manner.
