"Everything was absolutely excellent"

About: Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My mum, who is 91, is a resident in a care home. She broke her hip and had to be collected by an ambulance and taken to Victoria Hospital.

As soon as we arrived, it was wonderful. We thought we may have lost her after her operation, but the nurses and staff were excellent and within 2-3 weeks she was back to her usual, quirky self.

People don’t appreciate enough how good the care can be. My mum even said she wished she was back in hospital at times, as it was better than her £700 week care home!

Everything was absolutely excellent.

Dear Local 323

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your mum's experience. I was sorry to hear of her broken hip and the need for her to have an operation, which must have been a worrying time for you all. It was great to hear of her recovery and to hear how good her care was. I will gladly share this with the staff and with the Management Team, who will I'm sure will appreciate you taking the time to express your thanks.

Many thanks once again for sharing and all the best to your mum

Regards

Louise Ewing
