"Good rehab at Lings Bar hospital"

About: Florence Nightingale Community Hospital Lings Bar Hospital

(as the patient),

Due to a broken ankle I called an ambulance for my relative to be taken to Derbyshire Royal Infirmary as QMC was full. She was given prompt attention in A&E and was quickly admitted.

The operation was scheduled for the next day. She found the ward staff caring but they were overworked.

The follow up outpatient treatment was on time and effective.

But if a patient has a Leicester postcode but lives in Nottinghamshire, then the “system” makes it difficult to get back to Nottinghamshire for rehabilitation in Lings Bar. But it is excellent there in all respects as it is very clean, caring staff and lots of communication. She is given a shower regularly, whereas in the other hospital she was given three showers in three months.

She is currently having NHS aftercare which is very good as well as physiotherapy at home.
