"Really impressed"

About: Lister Hospital

It's been many years since I last went to an A&E and I've never been to the Lister since moving here. I hurt my ribs playing football 3days earlier and phoned the 111 line to get advice. They told me I should go to the nearest A&E. After moaning that is probably end up waiting for hrs to see someone and there's probably nothing they can do anyway, I did as I was told and went to the Lister. My experience was nothing like my recollection. I was seen by a triage nurse within 15mins then by a dr within around 45mins. The dr was excellent and rather than making me feel like I was eating their time he reassured me that it was worthwhile getting it checked as I did have a broken rib and they need to check there's no lung damage. So all in all, not really anything like I remembered! I was very impressed by the service of all of the staff.

Response from Lister Hospital

This is really good to hear. Sounds like everything - from the NHS111 service through to our colleagues in the Lister's new emergency department - performed really well. Thanks for letting us know - your feedback is winging its way to the team as we type!
