In October 2013 I was diagnosed with giant cell arteritis, and referred to the Great Western Hospital for treatment. Throughout the process, which started with a biopsy and continued in the rheumatology department, I was treated without delay, with efficient calmness which gave me confidence. All the consultants were kind and sensitive, and - in a rather frightening situation, where my eyesight was at risk - this was very welcome. I could not have received better treatment.
