I was a patient on Ward S14 on the 03.11.2014. I had an operation in the afternoon and was discharged on the same day. Generally, I am delighted with the standard of care and treatment that I received. My gold star goes to the anaesthetics and theatre personnel, who were scrupulously careful and attentive to detail. I would also like to thank my consultant who, over a number of years, has provided me with an excellent standard of care and treatment. As usual the quality of the food was excellent. My suggestions for improvement are as follows: I am alarmed at the high sugar snacks being offered from the visiting trolley and as menu offerings. My personal view is that a hospital should be promoting healthy eating at all times. I am also alarmed at the sight of so many overweight staff. There should be an initiative to help them lose weight. The in-house entertainment centre was welcome but I couldn't get a WI-FI signal for my tablet. Overall, this is a great hospital with excellent standards of care and treatment and I am immensely grateful to all the staff involved in my care..
