"Phlebotomy lab"

About: Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital

1:30pm Tue 4 Nov 2014. I arrived alone with my 12 year old autistic son for a blood test. Everyone was so helpful. He was very challenging, hitting and running away. The three security guards were wonderful. Kind and gentle and caring and yet big and strong and able to quietly and safely escort my son into the hospital. My son threw rubbish on the ground and I could not pick it up and the janitor just signaled that it was not a problem and had it cleared away in a second. The dept head sister and the phebotomist calmed my son down and drew his blood without having to sedate him. The security guards remained in the lab until everything was taken care of. A wonderful team at the Royal Alex. Thank you to everyone.
