"day case admission"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

I was admitted for day case surgery. My treatment necessitated an overnight stay on ward 10. The treatment I received both on the day case unit and on ward 10 was faultless. The staff were professional, conscientious and caring. However, in my post operative stupor, I was upset to hear the racket during visiting on my 5 bed ward. One patient had 6 visitors, another 4 and one poor soul had 8+!!!! Surely this can not be in the best interests of the patients.

Dear Madam, Thank you so much for the lovely feedback you have given the team on ward 10. I know that it will mean a great deal to all the staff on the ward. I do appreciate your comments relating to the number of visitors in the bay and the disruption this can cause for other patients. Our staff do try and get the balance right between allowing relatives in to visit loved ones and at the same time protect the needs and interests of the women on the ward. I am really sorry that we didnt manage to get this right for you whilst on the ward. Feedback like this is very imporatnt to the team and I am very sure that they will want to reflect on your views and the implications for patients in the future. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Best wishes Annie
