"Routine procedure"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

I visited the opthalmology department on Monday 3rd November for a routine Punctal dilation. What an eye opener! The pre-procedure staff were helpful and considerate making the necessary paperwork a pleasure rather than a chore. The interval between being processed and the procedure itself was brief. Once I was taken into the theatre area care was taken to explain what was going to happen and all the theatre staff greeted me with a cheery "Good morning" smile. The procedure itself was efficiently carried out and attention was paid to my comfort throughout. Post procedure care included a cup of tea and some hand holding from the opthalmic sister herself! I couldn't have asked for a better experience or greater care. Congratulations and many thanks to all concerned.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your recent Ophthalmology procedure here at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. I am so pleased to hear that your procedure went so well and that the staff were helpful and considerate. I will be sharing your very kind words with the Ophthalmic Sister so she can pass your feedback on to the teams involved in your care to encourage them to continue providing such an exceptional service. Your comments are also reassuring to other patients currently waiting for the procedure. Best wishes Simone Anderton Deputy Director of Nursing Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
