"Excellent service"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Plastic Surgery & Burns (wards 45, 47, 48 & 49)

(as the patient),

I had a rodent ulcer removed from my face.

The plastic surgeon and the nurses at canniesburn plastic surgery unit at Glasgow royal infirmary were amazing. My blood pressure was high and they just kept talking to me and tried to make me feel less anxious.

After the surgery they gave me a letter and told me to take it to my doctor today. I have now been given tablets for my blood pressure so they have sorted that out also. I would just like to say a big thank you to them as their bedside manner was excellent

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear Ethan,

Thank you for taking the time after your surgery to get in touch to tell me about the excellent experience you had at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. I will ensure your comments are passed onto the staff at the Canniesburn Unit as I know they will be really pleased to get such positive feedback.

With best wishes,

Lorna

Hi Ethan,

I just wanted to give you a quick update to let you know that your comments have been passed on to the Lead Nurse for the Canniesburn Unit and have gone to the team on the Unit who really appreciate the time you have taken to pass on your thanks.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde also has an internal website which is used by our staff to make suggestions for improvements or to share examples of good practice. The Regional Services Directorate (which the Canniesburn Unit is a part of) uses this to share all of the patient feedback they receive with all of their staff, and your feedback has been used here to highlight how important staff attitude is in making sure that patients have a positive experience at a time which is usually very anxious for them.

Thank you again for getting in touch,

Best Wishes,

Lorna
