My wife suffered a fall in the early hours of the morning last week and after a short while I managed to get her stable. I then dialled 111 to get help.
After some screening questions I was then passed to another more senior person whom deemed that I had done everything right and that no further action was needed.
Later we called the doctor to attend my wife as she was suffering from the after effects and he prescribed to give a different medicine rather than ibuprofen and paracetamol.
My wife unfortunately collapsed again so on this occasion I dialed 999 and the local Ambulance service arrived extremely quickly (within 15 minutes) and we were taken to the local A&E at Kingston Hospital.
It was a long day – we finally returned home at 7pm.
In conclusion given my Wife’s age (she is 84) I felt that the advice from 111 should have been to call an ambulance to check her over in the first incidence. However I have nothing but praise for the professionalism and speed of the Ambulance crew whom did come to see us.
"Nothing but praise for the professionalism and speed of service"
