"Excellent community matron servce, but poor care from Chorley"

About: Central Lancashire PCT / Community nursing Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

(as the patient),

I find the community matron service to be excellent.

However, this cannot be said of that period my wife spent in Rookwood A ward at the Chorley hospital. She was left in a chair by a window without her dressing gown and slippers on. Also during her stay, her wedding ring was lost. And on moving into a care home, her slippers went missing.

Dear Gene103

Thank you for your kind comments about the Community Matron Service provided by NHS Central Lancashire.

I am sorry to hear that your wife's experience of her stay at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital and the care home was less enjoyable. I hope that they have managed to locate her wedding ring and slippers. If not, you can write to the hospital to ask them to address this through the formal complaints system.
