About: Wansbeck Hospital

Absolutely disgusted with the way I have been treated I had an appointment for a breast scan on 7 oct 14, after finding a lump. It was cancelled without informing me. They then sent out another appointment for 31 oct 14. Turned up for it today only to be told it had once again been cancelled. Without informing me. They have issued me with another one for Monday. Another full weekend of worrying if I have breast cancer... Why couldn't I have been told they had cancelled the appointment? Government guide line states that if you find a lump that is suspected breast cancer you should been seen within 2 weeks. I have now waited 4 weeks and still not been seen. If. When I finally do get seen and its found to be Breast cancer, I will take action against Wansbeck hospital.

Dear Madam,   I am so sorry. It is extremely disappointing to read your review. It is clearly unacceptable for us to cancel an appointment without keeping you fully  informed. I want to apologise for wasting your time today and also for any unnecessary distress this delay may have caused you.   I have immediately escalated the situation tonight by contacting the Director and Clinical lead who are responsible for the service.  I know they will be as disappointed as I am to learn about the shortfalls in care and communication that you describe.   I would like to try and help if I can but I am unable to find out more about what exactly has happened here due to the fact that your post is anonymous.
