About: West Cumberland Hospital

I had a left hip replacement on 16th October. I would like to thank the Consultant and all who were involved in caring for me during my stay on Skiddaw 2 ward, there are too many names to mention personally. I am feeling the benefits of my new hip already and I am looking forward to eventually, resuming my normal activities. A big thank you to all concerned. I hope the hospital stays open, It is a big asset to the he area.

Thank you for contacting us with this very positive feedback to the team following your recent hip replacement. I will make sure that the team are made aware of your kind comments and I am sure that they will be delighted to know that their care is so well received. We are all very much looking forward to the opening of our new hospital in 2015,( you may have noticed the construction cranes immediately behind the existing building.) There is much work going on “behind the scenes” preparing for moving into these new premises, which will have state of the art facilities, more in keeping with the high standards of care being delivered for our community. I am delighted that you are feeling the benefits of your recent surgery already, and wish you well for your on-going recovery Alison Patient Experience .
