"Hospital A&E Over run / Poor practice"

About: Barnet Hospital

GP sent me for x-ray and CT scan following head injury. To be honest I can normally wait things out especially as I was keen to have a scan given the nature of the problem. I gave up as the staff were simply over run. For some reason having been told blood would be taken I was left in the waiting area for an hour with a needle stuck in my arm. It takes a couple of moments to take blood why would you leave a patient for an hour with the needle in their arm waiting in the main reception area? Sorry I can accept busy but this was simply poor practice once the needle goes in you can't ask the patient to go back out and sit and wait for that length of time.
