"A and E Problems"

About: Airedale General Hospital

We recently has to visit A and E with our 10 month old daughter who was having difficulty catching her breath. When we arrived we had to wait in a very small waiting area to see the Nurse before moving to a corridor to wait. We asked if there was anywhere that we could change our daughter and the answer was no. We looked around to see if we could find somewhere but there was no where suitable. In the end we had to change her on the corridor. Secondly there was no where we could take her to keep her away from the drunks there was one security guard on who went around 9pm. Furthermore we had to wait 4 hours which I understand happens at A and E, but there was no resources for getting a drink or something to eat as the shop was closed. We wanted to leave it was that horrid but we could not for our daughters health, we felt she would have been better at home. Whilst waiting we saw two other familys with babies leave as there was just not the resources to look after a a baby for a long period of time.
