"Poor treatemnt on ward E51"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

My gran is staying on ward E51. I'm really confused as to why the auxiliary nurse would take priority in put rollers in a patients hair over taking my,gran to the toilet. My gran was soaked in urine in bed whilst the nurse finished the ladies hair in the next bed. She also told us my gran is not blind although she's been registered blind for 12 year. She's very ignorant and rude. She shouldn't be working for the nhs. Claire

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments regarding the care your grandmother has received. It is really important for us to get feedback - both positive and negative - and we are sorry that we have let your grandmother down. The Matron and the Ward Manager for the ward have been contacted and will be looking into this for you and if your grandmother is still on the ward, please do not hesitate to speak to the Ward Manager regarding her care. We appreciate you may not want to do this so if you do not want to speak to the ward staff directly, please contact our Patient Advice Team if you would like us to look into your grandmother's care in more detail. The contact details are: pals@chs.northy.nhs.uk or freephone 0800 587 6513
