In mid-August, 2014, I had a hip replacement operation at Hexham General Hospital and I would like to say how grateful I am to all those hospital staff who made my visit such a comfortable and pleasant experience. I am greatly indebted to the doctor and his support staff who performed the operation. Also I would like to thank the nurses who attended me on Ward 3 - they say there's no place like home but Ward 3 came pretty close to it. The kitchen staff also deserve to be praised for providing such appetising meals. I have made a good recovery and am now walking, unaided, for 4km (2.5 miles) on a regular basis two months after the operation. Thank you again Hexham General Hospital and the NHS.
