"Care of the elderly"

About: Frome Community Hospital

I am aware that there are concerns with care of the elderly within the NHS but I hadn't witnessed it until my Nan was a patient was at Frome Community Hospital. The management and staff need to read the Francis report because the comments made by patients and their families during the inquiry could have been written about Frome Community Hospital. I am going to write a formal complaint but meAntime I would like to warn families of elderly patients. If your relative is unable to feed or drink for themselves they will go without, if the call buzzer is pressed expect at least a 20 minute wait, if the patient soils the bed expect them not to be cleaned up for hours, if the patient is unwell out of hours don't expect the nursing staff to contact a doctor, expect your elderly patient to be treated and spoken to like a naughty toddler, hand hygiene is poor , use of PPE poor, staffs hair not tied back... I could go on and on... In a word - disgusted.
