"Thanks to all involved"

About: Victoria Hospital / General Surgery

(as a relative),

My wife was admitted with appendicitis and subsequently had her appendix removed. The care she received on Admission Unit 2 and on Ward 52 was second to one even although the staff were very busy, perhaps even understaffed/ overworked, as many could not finish at their official end time. Food was also very good so I was told and I found the parking to be very good. Yes, I do wish that services would be more local to me e. g. Queen Margaret in Dunfermline but we had no complaints really about our first experience with the Vic'. Thanks to all involved.

Dear Grateful Hubby

How good of you to take the time to tell us about your recent experience of "the Vic". These are very busy areas of the hospital and the staff do work very hard, so I am sure they will very much appreciate your kind comments. Your points regarding food and parking are also much appreciated and it will be good to share these with our catering staff and with our estates staff who play a hugely important role in the smooth running of the hospital.

I will make sure your comments are passed on and thank you once again for taking the time to give us your feedback. I hope your wife is recovering well.

Regards

Louise Ewing

Thanks for your response Louise.

I would recommend though that the Vic' addresses the staffing issues sooner rather than later as whilst, yes, these are by their nature busy areas, you cannot expect to run staff ragged as it were as mistakes may happen or they may choose to work elsewhere both of which would be a great pity.

I also forgot to say a specific thanks to the mid week car park attendants who not only advised where the best area was for my parking but they also identified where the free parking places were. What a difference this made. St John's in Livingston should take note.
