About: Scunthorpe General Hospital

I had an appointment last month (24th Sep) which was cancelled with no reason given. Since then I have been trying to get another appointment as it is now over a year since my last check up as I have Glaucoma in one eye.I keep getting fobbed off with "we are trying to arrange more clinics and we will be in touch". I tried phoning the other day at 1230 hrs to try and get an appointment but despite being "You are No 1 in the queue" for 20 minutes and still nobody answered so I gave up. This is totally unacceptable and I am still awaiting another appointment Is there anyone there who can sort this mayhem out?

Hello, I'm very sorry to hear about this. We are currently reviewing our ophthalmology service to identify improvements in appointment availability, as are aware that currently our capacity is not where we would like it to be.
