"Hospital Review"

About: Newham General Hospital

Upon waking to severe pain I was advised by 999 to call 111. 111 then advised I was in need of an ambulance who arrived and took me to Newham General. I arrived to a empty A&E and waited 45 mins to see a nurse whilst still in pain and still unable to walk. The nurse deemed it necessary for me to see the senior Physio therapist. To my disbelief I was advised that I needed no care and that a X-ray was not needed and I should have a MRI carried out privately as it would show any concern in the foot but it is not available on NHS. After 5 hours of pain (which I am still in) I leave the hospital in no better state and feel robbed of my right to health care. Maybe this is where the NHS is failing, as we have people in job roles where they are incompetent and unable to carry out a true duty of care to the public.

We are really sorry to hear that you were not happy with the way you were managed in the Urgent Care Centre. We would like to know a bit more about what happened and the time of visit. Could you call us on our Freephone number 0800 085 8354. Kind regards East London NHs Foundation Trust
