"Not sure it could have went any better"

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

Visited wards Esau and 8x (room 6) for appendicitus. Every single nurse, health care assistant or doctor that I met, I could not speak higher about. All where really polite, helpful & very easy to deal with, it literally was all about patient care. The only issue I had with the staff was that I thought the porters & cleaners where all very abrupt and had not been brought up on the same patient care philosophy. My operation itself was a procedure which I was well informed about, it took 2 days longer than expected to get me in to surgery but this was in relation to the A&E list I was placed on, obviously more life threatening injuries where more essential. Although I understood this, I am lead to believe that Whiston Hospital have a much better procedure to get patients in to surgery quicker.

Thank you for your kind comments, we will pass them on to the staff on the wards. We will communicate your concerns about the porters and cleaners to ISS who are contracted to provide these services. We expect all staff in our hospitals to uphold the same principles of respect when speaking with patients. Best wishes.
