"my sister"

About: Coventry And Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust / Eating disorders Coventry And Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust / Inpatient mental health care

(as a relative),

my sister was diagnosed about 5 years ago with anorexia and several other eating issues she has admitted that she has been suffering with this for the last ten years.

She was sectioned under the mental health act into Woodleigh beeches this was very distressing to her and her family as it was completely out of the blue and was organised by her CPN at the time and doctor. After 3 weeks she was discharged and was seeing her CPN every week she seemed to stabilise but was continuing to not eat and her weight continued to plummet. we have fought for years for some proper intervention.

She is now under the mental health team in Nuneaton and has had her CPN has been changed due to the new cluster services. Her new CPN has little experience of eating disorders by their own admission and she is struggling in talking to them. She has recently been assessed for DVT to which they have said that she has scored a 9 on the scale but they are not sure that this will benefit we have been told that if they decide to decline this they will look at discharging her from the service myself and family have supported her and over the last few months she has deteriorated drastically she has now admitted she is finally ready to accept help and engage something that she has never done before.

she has contacted the crisis team several times begging them to help her but been told to make a cup of tea.

we desperately would like her to be able to access services such as the new aspen centre in warwick or the priory as I am scared that she is now getting older and no one seems to want to help us

your advice would be very valuable to us many thanks

a very desperate and sad sister.
