"triage"

About: Colchester General Hospital

Maternity triage is a fantastic service nothing is too much trouble. Lexden ward is totally understaffed but the staff that are there are fantastic. I feel sorry for them, trying to deliver a service with poor resources. Number of things wrong after my delivery and no solid answers as to why, which is concerning. I won't have next baby at Colchester, but that is no reflection on the staff there. It is not helped by the rudness and expectations of some patients. I don't think I could tolerate that on a daily basis and i felt that CGH is letting their staff down by not protecting them and putting measures in place to stop this. Generally speaking the hospital is pretty dire, dated and tired looking. I just hope I never end up in there very poorly

I apologise you’ve not had a good patient experience. We try really hard to improve our services based on the comments we receive from our patients, their relatives or carers. We would like the opportunity to discuss your experiences more fully and to apologise in person. If you are willing I would appreciate it if I could ask the matron to contact you. Could you email me, using the reference “Comment on Maternity service at RDEE4-Colchester General Hospital at 19/10/2014 01:07:36”, please? Many thanks Paul Searle, Head of Communications Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust info@colchesterhospital.nhs.uk
