I am sincerely sorry that you found the environment and service within the emergency department to be below the standard that is usually provided for our patients. All patients are seen in order of their clinical need using the Manchester Triage system and pain relief should be offered at triage. I am extremely sorry if this did not happen when you and your son were seen. With regards to the cleanliness of the department, I apologise if this was not cleaned in an appropriate time. The department is currently reviewing the cleaning hours and schedules to meet the cleanliness demands on the unit. I will share your comments with all the team to raise awareness of your concerns and to ensure lessons are learnt. Should you need to attend in the future, please do not hesitate to make any concerns known to member of staff so they can take the appropriate action at the time.
