My husband was referred this morning to Cheltenham, by Gloucester A&E with an eye injury. He was given an appointment at 3.30pm (Gloucester phoned through and Cheltenham had asked him to come in), he arrived early at 3 to find out that his records were for someone called Pauline (incorrect information on the database). He then wasn't assessed (again as he had been in Gloucester) until approximately 5pm. The nurse was unable to read the previous notes and carried out a vision test. He was given a number to join another queue and asked to wait. At 5.30pm a nurse came and closed the department. She commented that my husband (& 5 other patients) would be moved to the Knightsbridge Ward, where they were then left in a waiting area. The nurse said she would try and find a doctor. No-one turned up, so at 6pm, extremely fed up with waiting, my husband left still in pain and untreated. His parents had been waiting also all afternoon in the car park. This is outrageous.
"Outrageous service"
