"That the staff could see how frustrated ..."

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

That the staff could see how frustrated I was in not being informed of what was going on

What could be improved

everything from having the details of my mothers proposed change in procedure on the morning of her operation 1/4/09. The waiting all day whilst the nursing staff kept ringing for information on my mother's operation. Then being told at 3.30 by the sister that they had run out of theatre time and that the Dr was coming to speak with me. 1.5hrs later 4:45 pm he had left the ward I was then informed that the operation maybe on Friday 3/4/09 and that the registrar would be speaking to me. 5:25pm on asking where the reistrar was to be told that they have gone home. Left at 6:pm after feeding mum her tea. Now you think you will be performing an operation on my mother without the famliy knowing what you are intending to do with this changed procudure then I think not. I traveled 150 miles to be at my mothers bedside before her operation as the operation could have an end result of a stroke, heart attack even death.

I am most appalled at the way an 82 year old woman and any other human being can be treated I feel like a slab of meat. the lack of communication is disgracefull.

I would like to continue with my concerns but unfortunately I do not have the time as I have to find someone in this organisation that can advise me of what you think you are intending to do with my mother on Friday .

WISH ME LUCK I'M GOING TO NEED IT.

Anything else?

If it meets your rules! what are they I wonder!
