"visit to opd ent"

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary

visited ent St Michaels Hill. Very messy department outside of consulting room. the doctor didnt introduce himself, I saw him coming from another room and failed to wash his hands. took a look in my ear without a cover on his otoscope. Then asked for an instrument to remove a pack. still didnt wash his hands, didnt have a clean working area as he balanced a tray on his notes. Appeared to be in a massive hurry. I had to ask him to look in the ear post removal of pack to see if the graft had taken, whereupon he prescribed antibiotic drops. My worry is mainly infection control. This was unacceptable behaviour and surprising in a hospital. I've previously been in and out of Neonates dept and this is fabulous for cleanliness and infection control. I've ticked Endocrinology as there isnt a listing for ENT
