About: Fairfield General Hospital

(as the patient),

Anything else?

i was a patient at fairfield when i was expecting my son in october 2008 as i was having to be induced. when i arrived at the hospital the staff was very kind but as the days progressed i was told i could not go down to the delivery room as they waas short on staff. by the monday i had become very depressed and the nurse sent the doctor to see me who then aid that i woz on a waitin list of 3 and i was the 3rd being that i was already 14 days over my due date. then on the tuesday i was still 3rd on the waiting list even tho the other 2 people had gone down before me. i asked to be transferred but was told that it was too much work and they did not have the time to do that. finally the nurses took me down at 7am on the wednesday and told me that they would ring my partner which never happened i had to get my partners mum to ring him has she had rang up in the morning to see how i was. after my son was born i had a fourth degree tear and was not able to do anything for myself for a few days after. i had rang my bell to say that my son had needed his nappy changing and the nurse that came in had handed me a nappy cotton wool and some water to do so but seen as i had just had an operation to have stitches i was unable to sit up to do it so i rang the bell again and got shouted at as they were in a hand over meeting. on night when my partner had gone home i was without bedding for 3 hours until the night shift nurses had come on shift. i was there for a week all in all but i discharged my self as i had been feeling depressed at being left in a side room on my own without anyone to talk to after 9pm.
