"Taw ward ... Exceptional"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford)

I've just come home after an angiogram yesterday and due to go back at the beginning of next week for further procedures. I was initially admitted to CCU about 2 months ago by ambulance after a mild heart attack but due to mental health issues I had to discharge myself back then. I arrived yesterday morning and the nurse who admitted me was not only thorough but also more than understanding about my ptsd and other issues. She constantly kept on checking in on me during the rest of the day and took the level of care to an exemplary level. When I was discharged today she even left with me to collect meds as I was starting to get slightly episodic and I regularly get angina related to my ptsd and stress and anxiety levels. As hard as it's going to be with having to go back in a few days time I have to say that I am more than reassured and nowhere near as anxious as I would have been knowing that she's reassured me that she'll be there on the night shift....last night I was wandering the hallways through most of the night as I rarely sleep anyway. What theoretically would have been almost impossible is now going to be a lot easier.😃 The other nurses, support staff, surgeons and doctors have all been thoroughly understanding and care and concern could not have been better 😃
