"Kept informed by all the professionals"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

After a collapse and fall at home my mother was admitted to a and e at the NNUH. Although the hospital was extremely busy and we did have to wait 8 hours for a bed to be found the staff were all doing their very best. None of the staff gave the impression that we were being hurried along the care was exemplary. We were kept informed honestly all the time by all the professionals she saw. It was obvious to me that the staff do not have the resources they need.

We are sorry that your mother had such a long wait for a bed. We have taken steps to improve our systems, including patient discharge, to enable us to accommodate patients coming to hospital in an emergency.
