"Waiting list times"

About: Colchester General Hospital

What is happening to the orthopaedic dept. waiting list? I am waiting for a revision knee operation. I saw the consultant in June and was told I would be in by September if not earlier. In September I was assured that I would be in the second or third week of October. In October I have been told it will not be before Christmas and probably the New Year! If I am in by then I will have been waiting 6 months. Meanwhile the knee is getting worse. How many others are finding they seem to be on a never ending waiting list?

I apologise you’ve not had a good patient experience. We try really hard to improve our services based on the comments we receive from our patients, their relatives or carers. We would like the opportunity to discuss your experiences more fully and to apologise in person. If you are willing I would appreciate it if I could ask the matron to contact you. Could you email me, using the reference “Comment on Orthopaedics at RDEE4-Colchester General Hospital at 09/10/2014 14:11:33”, please? Many thanks Paul Searle, Head of Communications Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust info@colchesterhospital.nhs.uk
