my son had support via early intervention and then the bennet centre. when the bennet centre closed he was transferred to the Sutherland centre. on their second meeting my son was discharged. they did not know him and they criticised him for his life style choices all of which changed dramatically by my son's diagnosis. my son took this to mean that he was 'cured' and I believe he stopped taking his anti psychotic medication. since then I have made several unsuccessful attempts for him to access support via the lymebrook centre. I am not confident that much effort was made to engage with my son and indeed they have now passed him onto the police as a missing person.
I truly feel that my son has been very badly neglected by mental health support and I have struggled to deal with him as I am not trained in mental health.
our relationship has now totally broken down and I fear for his future.
