"A&E receptionists"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

I was referred to A&E by my GP with a kidney stone. The receptionist was extremely rude, I gave her the paperwork I was given by my GP, she then questioned why I was there! and said my GP shouldn't have sent me there! It makes me laugh that the "receptionist" seemed to have self promoted herself to a doctor! After she discussed this further, she then made it quite clear that there would be along wait. If I hadn't have been feeling so poorly, I would have walked out. Who did she think she is. There is a way in which you speak to people and she certainly didn't know how too.

It's important that all our staff, whatever the circumstances, treat our patients with dignity and respect at all times. And whether or not she was right in her assessment of the situation, how this was handled then affected your view of the service you received. Perhaps you would be so kind as to email us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net so we can get this important matter followed up? We hope that you give us that chance.
