"Hysteroscopy"

About: The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford)

I attended the new women's services ward for a hysteroscopy. On the way to the new centre staff members who passed me and others in the corridors said good morning and seemed very friendly which was nice. There were lots of signs to direct you so I found the ward easily. I was met by a nurse and shown to a waiting area with comfortable chairs. She said they were running late.I believe this was due to an earlier patient being taken ill so I understood the delay was unavoidable. There seemed to be some teething problems on the ward as maintenance men were trying to unblock something in a staff area and the patients toilet wasn't flushing properly. But that's to be expected on a newly opened ward. I was seen by a consultant 1hour 40minutes after my appointment time and had the procedure 15minutes later. The changing area had a toilet in it too.I was shown into a large room. The 2 nurses and consultant were very nice and helped make a not particularly pleasant experience easier.I was given a cup of tea afterwards, sat for 15 minutes, asked if I felt ok a few times then left. I was very happy with my visit to this new ward.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding the care that you received during your recent visit to the gynaecology unit at the Princess Royal Hospital which I am more than happy to pass over to the ward manager to share with the staff.
