For the last few years my Father has been under the care of a specific, Urologist at Lincoln County. He has had annual PSA checks which I understand are an indicator for prostate cancer.
My father has to go to urinate very frequently, even through the night. He does not have a urine infection. His PSA has been steady and low for the last few years. However, his recent PSA score was 15. He was given this result by his surgery 6 weeks ago. He has been told he is on the list to see the Urologist but so far he has received no appointment.
My Father has rung the Urology secretaries many times, often the calls go unanswered. When someone does pick up the phone he is told they are short staffed but will 'look into things' but nothing happens. It was my understanding that if someone had the possibility of cancer they would be seen quickly. Why has nothing been done?
My Father has spoken to his surgery who are also struggling to get through to the urology department. My Father is now so concerned about things that he is thinking about paying to see someone privately, he can ill afford this!
