"Cook 4 Life at Sherwood Pines Allotment"

About: Adult Specialist Services / Nutrition & dietetics

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The Cook 4 Life sessions held at our Sherwood Pines site have been really interesting and our volunteers have got a lot out of it.

One volunteer in particular found the practial cooking useful and gained new skills from this. In particular the pitta pizza went down well and the volunteer is going to make this with their grandchildren.

Other volunteers have embraced and tried vegetables/food they haven't eaten before and really enjoyed them.

All in all a big thumbs up and the mix of gardening, cooking fresh produce from the site and learning about fats, salt, sugar, Eatwell Plate, etc. worked really well.

Thank you very much for posting your comments here.

It is great to hear that your volunteers have gained new skills and enjoyed cooking and trying new foods during the Cook4Life Course.

I do hope that your volunteers continue to use the skills and recipes they have learnt in the future and enjoy cooking them with their families at home.
