What I liked

The new surgical centre was impressive. The care and responsiveness that nurses and doctors had for me was, based on my previous experiences, exceptionally good and I could only note all round improvements. Staff seemed to have time to spend with patients.

The catering arrangements were good on Isabella Ward and I liked being able to see and choose rather than order 24 hours in advance.

Despite having an operation my stay was enjoyable and positive and visitors all commented positively as well.

What could be improved

Costs of TV seemed excessive and patients are not warned of the need to bring that amount of money with them.

Anything else?

Since 2000 I have spent much time in Kingston Hospital, as a patient myself and much more time in support of my terminally ill husband. I have seen gradual improvements over those years, but what I experienced in 2009 was significantly better.
