At 55 years old this was my first stay in hospital. Admitted as an emergency with bad lower abdominal pain and passing blood. Being admitted on to ward B2 and not knowing what to expect, and the bad press this hospital has had in the past in the back of my mind, was soon put at ease, As nurses worked on me, doing all the vital checks and taking personal information yet keeping me at ease. After two days i was transfered to ward C6 and again was kept well at ease, calm and informed why I was being transferred, results of various tests, until diagnosis, treatment and discharge. I can only praise to the highest level the hard work of everyone from the consultants, doctors, nursing staff, and support staff who were constantly on the go through ever changing daily circumstances, showing true patient care and professionalism. Another observation the food was good, bearing in mind I was not staying in a hotel.
