"As a frequent user of various different hospital clinics around the country due to a rare condition, I have come to the conclusion that there is a large black hole somewhere in the NHS with a lot of missing hospital appointments...I have been on lists with various hospital consultants and clinics and even district nurses for a number of years and I am struck by how many appointments I have waited endlessly for, only for them to turn up once I have rang and chased it, this can be months and months down the line. I feel something, somewhere in the system has broken. "
