"Emergency hospital treatment"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Cardiology South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I was at my work place when I started having strong heart palpatation and dizziness that wouldnt go away.

After 45min I have decided to call emergency line in order to get an advice. The lady on the phone advised to call on paramedics to come to my workplace in which case they did.

I was checked on the spot by paramedics with a heart rate of 244bpm and was told they are taking me to East Surrey hospital as a priority case in case my heart decides to pop! The paramedics Fiona and Andy were extremely helpful, caring and comforting and so were the rest of the staff at the hospital. I could not praise them more for their efforts and care.

I am one of those people who hates wasting other peoples time especially the hospital as they get loads of hypochondriacs and time wasters already. If it weren't for those people God knows if I would be still be alive and writing about my story now so there is no words to express my gratitude to those people.

Dear Sanela

Thank you very much for sharing your story with us and I am so pleased you are recovering from what must have been a distressing experience. Firstly, I really hope you do not suffer this again, but if you do, it is very important to call 999 if your symptoms do not subside after 15 minutes.

You really mustn't worry about wasting people's time; if our emergency medical advisers believe you do not need an ambulance they will provide you with different advice instead, but will of course send an ambulance if your condition needs one, as they did this time.

Secondly, thank you for taking the time to compliment our ambulance staff. It really does mean a lot to them when they receive feedback from the public and they would be pleased to know that you are recovering. If you would like us to pass on your feedback to the particular staff involved, and if you have time, please feel free to email me with the date of the incident and the address that we came to, and I will ensure that happens. My email address is louise.hutchinson@secamb.nhs.uk

Thank you again and my very best wishes for your ongoing recovery.

Yours faithfully, Louise Hutchinson
