About: St Peter's Hospital (Chertsey)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was very lucky that day:THE RECEPTIONIST WAS VERY CHEERY, had all my notes and addressed me as Mrs. P.very respectfully.

What could be improved

Carparking is still a nightmare!-- Took me 20min to find empty space and only just made it in time for appointment!----only then to have to wait another 3/4 hours to be seen. Waiting area shared by different clinics, far too busy and other nurses/receptionist very abrupt/rude to patients.

Canteen area too small, inefficient, expensive and unfriendly staff.

Some freshly baked cakes from the local bakery would certainly not go amiss, as would china cups!

Anything else?

The hospital is beginning to have the feeling of a major railway station! Corridors are all crowded with equipment, boxes, merchendise or people.

The centralisation of services has had a very detrimental effect on the place. I am a frequent visitor there, have been seen privately in conjunction with the Runnymede Hospital, andvisited several people there. My late husband died there in 2007. At that time I was not at all impressed by the cleanliness of the wards or the work of the staff on the wards. There seemed to be no co-ordination of duties between the staff/ shifts. Medizines did not arrive or were not administered, because nobody checked. The same happened with meals, If he could not reach it, or it was too hot/cold nobody checked to help. It was just taken away untouched. The person delivering food, spoke no english and so on and on.

Another occasion,(2008) my daughter was admitted after miscarriage at 16 weeks and was left for 3hours on her own in a single room in the maternity ward with all baby EXPECTING THINGS AROUND HER!

If I have to be an in-patient in the near future, I will do my utmost NOT to be taken to St. Peter's.
